Investing in Managed Futures
Before you invest, it's most important to define your goals and objectives.
Assess your current portfolio's asset allocation and determine what your overall
objective is and what role managed futures instruments would play.
The first step in investing is finding a qualified Introducing Broker (IB).
A qualified IB is a registered broker with the National
Futures Association (NFA). Much like a stockbroker when buying stocks and
mutual funds, IB's are brokers who assist you in buying managed futures.
When choosing an IB, the most important qualification to look for are:
- - Company history, experience and specialty
- - NFA
Status
- - Your account representatives Industry knowledge and experience
- - Understanding of Modern Portfolio Theory (MPT)
- - Looking out for your best interest. This is the most import trait.
Managed futures are powerful instruments and can be used in numerous ways to
achieve your objective. It's always best to speak with a qualified managed futures
specialist.

OpVest is proud to consider itself an educational based introducing brokerage firm. We continue to gain notoriety as a company dedicated to educating our clientele in order to help them become wiser investors and traders. Knowledge is power and our mission is to make all of our clients more proficient and better informed about the markets, investing and trading.
An investor's trading arsenal is only as good as the wisdom and experience of the trader. That is why it is important that a trader receives the necessary tutelage from an experienced mentor to expand his or her knowledge.
At OpVest we strive to make our clients more equipped to make smart decisions with their investments through a mentor-apprentice relationship with one of our brokers. Our hope is that our clients continue to grow their trading acumen through our teaching strategies which delve deep into trade design. We believe this will help them to identify the risks and potential opportunities that the futures markets have to offer.
Investors should be aware that trading futures and options involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for everyone.
